Gum Disease Treatment

A1 Dental offers preventive treatment and oral care specially to preserve the health of your gums. Gums are often vulnerable to harmful bacteria resulting from food particles left after eating and not regularly brushing your teeth.

In many cases, pain is not felt by the patient who has progressing gum disease or gingivitis. Regular visits to the dentist will help prevent gum disease or treat it before it worsens.

Signs of Unhealthy Gums

Our gums may be delicate but they do play a very important role in our oral health. Keeping our gums healthy is a must as these tissues hold our teeth in place. Healthy gums are easily associated with healthy teeth.

When you do not take care of your gums, it could lead to bacteria build up and eventually to infections. Here are several signs of unhealthy gums:

  • Bad Breath
  • Swollen Gums
  • Minor Bleeding after Brushing Your Teeth
  • Loose Teeth

You need to look out for these symptoms and get immediate treatment as needed. Your dentist at A1 Dental will conduct a gum examination during your dental check up which is why it is important to never miss these appointments.

Diabetic Patients and Gum Disease

The root cause of Periodontal Disease is a bacterial infection in the gingival tissue surrounding the teeth. When left untreated the bacteria could further attack the gum pockets and eventually reaching the bone tissue.

When the patient has diabetes, he or she is more susceptible to infection than normal and contracting Periodontal Disease cannot be removed from the equation.

Considering this, we highly recommend patients who are diagnosed with diabetes to regularly visit our clinic for dental check-ups and gum disease examination.

A1 Dental is happy to check your teeth for oral health problems and possible gum disease provide immediate treatment when necessary. To set an appointment, please call 760-962-8585.
